Cost guide
Concrete is priced mostly by the square foot, but site work can swing the total a lot. This page gives you a starting point before anyone comes out to measure. Every number here is an estimate, not a quote.
Average project

The local average: about $5,316
Published cost data puts the average concrete flatwork project in the Gainesville area at about $5,316 (checked October 2026).
That figure averages all kinds of flatwork: walkways, shed pads, patios, and full driveways. Small jobs pull it down. Long driveways and stamped patios pull it up. It tells you where a typical local job lands. It can't tell you what yours will cost.
For scale: a plain two-car driveway of about 600 square feet, at an estimated $9 per square foot (the middle of the typical range below), comes to about $5,400. That's close to the average. A 10-by-12 shed pad comes in far below it. A large stamped patio can run well above it.
| Service | Typical size | Estimated cost per sq ft (typical range) | Estimated project range |
|---|---|---|---|
| Driveway installation, plain broom finish | 500 to 800 sq ft | $6 to $12 | $3,000 to $9,600 |
| Patio, plain finish | 200 to 400 sq ft | $6 to $12 | $1,200 to $4,800 |
| Concrete slab (shed, hot tub, or garage pad) | 120 to 600 sq ft | $6 to $10 | $700 to $6,000 |
| Stamped concrete patio | 300 to 500 sq ft | $10 to $20 | $3,000 to $10,000 |
| Concrete replacement, full two-car driveway with tear-out | 500 to 800 sq ft | $7 to $15 | $3,500 to $12,000 |
Replacing only a few damaged panels (roughly 100 to 250 sq ft): estimated $1,000 to $3,500.
All figures are estimates. The per-square-foot numbers are typical installed ranges from recent national cost guides. The project ranges multiply those by common job sizes. Your written quote is the real number.

What pushes a price up
- Long or steep driveways, or yards that need grading or fill
- Tight access, where the truck can't reach and the concrete has to be pumped or wheeled in
- Tearing out and hauling away old concrete or asphalt
- Thicker concrete and more steel for trucks, RVs, trailers, or hot tubs
- Stamped patterns, borders, and extra colors
- Soft or wet clay that has to be dug out and replaced with stone
- Drainage work, like a culvert where the driveway crosses a ditch
- Permits. Hall County lists its residential driveway permit fee at $50. Other counties and cities set their own.
What brings a price down
- A simple rectangle with a broom finish
- A bigger job, since setup costs spread over more square feet
- Easy access for the concrete truck
- Ground that's already graded and firm
- Doing two jobs on one pour day, like a patio and a walk together
